Date Night

Earlier this week my darling friend from Coffee & Bailey's posted about Boston Restaurant Week.  Well, for my fellow Bostonians - did you know the North End does it's own restaurant week? Yup - same deal, less publicized, the best food.

The BF and I took advantage of this opportunity and went to Antico Forno for date night!  One would think that after my recent adventure to Italy I would be sick of Italian food. However, that lasted about a day and I was ready for more.  The food, menu, and service at Antico Forno was divine!  Here's a peek at my choices for the evening (please excuse my lack of food photography skills)..

Melanzane - Roasted eggplant topped with mozzarella and tomato then baked to perfection,
topped with basil pesto

Cannelloni con Pollo e Spinaci - Cannelloni stuffed with chicken, spinach, and ricotta cheese,
baked with roast garlic cream sauce

& last but certainly not least, a fabulous bottle of red

I finished off the meal with tiramisu but my excitement for the delicious goodness of it got in the way of a photo.  Date night is always my favorite night of the week.  We try to do something romantic and sweet as often as possible to avoid falling into the black hole known as the post work couch and TV.
